position summary and responsibilities
sales specialists professionals are responsible for selling ibm offerings (hardware, software, services, and industry solutions) directly to customers.
problem solving:
communicates new developments or announcements in the specailty to client relationship teams, members of otehr specailty teams, ibm business partners and to the customers within the assgined territory.age, color, disability, or veteran status, gender, genetics, gender identity or expression, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation.services business management and channel management processes, cost justification, examples of these techniques include, opportunity / territory management, acquisition management, but are not limited to.provides input to and implements saels action plans in the specailty offering set for the assigned territory.
communication/negotiation:
negotiates with team members to match specialty, and other offeirngs to customer business problems, articulating and comparing alternative approaches, to design a toatl soltuion. based on own analytical sklils and business judgments, independently generates solutions. defines acquisition alternatives which result in winning financial strategies.
controls own work priorities and methods, and makes necessary trade-offs.
challenges the validity of given procedures and processes, etc, such as those related to selling, opportunity management.
recognizes problems and risk related to activities or objectives of assigned work projects.
applies creativity and judgment to solving customer business problems, and in other assigned activities, in designing and selling solutions.
assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
maintains an understanding of saels processes, techniques and tools in the specialty, and uses them appropriately.demonstrates reqiured proficiency levels for techincal and saels skills, as defined for incumbents in this position.recognizes opportnuities to integrate other specialty offeirngs into a total solution.
